I don’t really have time today for a lengthy tutorial or explanation, but since I was foolish enough post an incriminating picture of the havoc this cake wreaked on my kitchen, I thought I ought to show you the finished product.
This was for my neighbor’s 10th birthday, which happens to be her Golden birthday! Her mom took her friends roller skating and gave her a special pair of roller skates we helped paint gold. A little more sparkly than this cake.
You can see the shirt I screened as her birthday present here.
I’m also thinking a disco ball cake could be perfect for New Years Eve! Stay tuned if you want more info on that!
Since I’m not a trained pastry chef, I had to be a little creative about how to make this happen. If you are interested in all the gory details, let me know and I’ll try and do a tutorial at some point.
And here is the damage to the kitchen. Ok, some of it was there before (and some of it is BSB’s).
What do you think? Was it worth the chaos?
Depends….how did it taste?!
I don’t know. I didn’t eat any. :-/
Any cake as cute as that– is totally worth the mess! Love it!
You know I love a good theme and this one is awesome! Totally worth the chaos. I love it!
