Homes.com Spring Into the Dream Pinterest Contest

Ah! Spring!

The blossoms, the butterflies, the flowers and hope of renewal.

I type this as the temperature outside my house climbs all the way to 110 degrees today. That idyllic Spring that inspires poets, and makes everyone fall in love, is a bit of a fantasy to me since I live in the arid desert. Spring seems like a blip on the calendar and all too soon the signals are clear that summer has begun–the endless months of hot steering wheels and Otter-pops coping strategies.

But just because it is too hot to go and plant a garden today, doesn’t mean that I can’t revel in that idyllic vision of Spring a bit and be inspired by its beauty and promise of a fresh start.

Especially if I could win $500 while doing so!!!

I had the chance to meet the awesome people behind Homes.com at SNAP! Conference last month. They have invited me, along with a group of fantastic bloggers you will recognize, to take part in their “Spring into the Dream” Pinterest contest. BUT lest you think this is just about me winning lots of money and fame, there is an opportunity for you to do the same!! When the winning blogger has been selected (hopefully me) one of their readers (hopefully you) who has participated in the contest and left a comment on their blog (hopefully my blog), will also win $500!!! Woo Hoo!  Do you love Spring? Do you love Pinterest? Awesome! I’ll give you all of the details at the end of this post.

But first, what does “Spring into the Dream” mean to me? Or what are my Spring Dreams all about?

In my Spring dreams, my outdoor spaces become fun, yet somehow pastoral (in the middle of the suburbs) settings, where we can relax, play, entertain, grow things and explore. My Homes.com Spring Into the Dream board is all about outdoor spaces.

Some of my dreamy spaces are less realistic than others, but one of my Spring Dreams I’ve had for a long time is to add a swing to my front porch.

Something comfy like this. Or stylish like this (love the rug).

Southern Living

I like this one from bhg! A place the neighbors and come and sit and chat for a while, or I can relax while keeping an eye on the kids as they ride around on their bikes. I have just the spot for this!

Maybe with $500, this dream will finally be a reality!

Another dream, is to expand my backyard patio for entertaining and play.

Alright, if it’s going to look like this, it may remain a dream for a long time to come.

To sum it up, Spring into the Dream, for me, means finding ways to live and be outdoors in beautiful spaces more often. Enjoying the breeze, letting the children run around, hanging out with family and friends, bringing a portion of my idyllic pastoral vision into my reality.

So you wanna play, too? How will you “Spring into the Dream?”
