Smart Gifts for the Men in Your Life

Do you ever struggle with buying gifts for the men in your life? I do. I think it is because if there is something they really want, they usually go and buy it. And if your husband is anything like mine, they can be super-particular about the specifications of their gear, making it likely that I will have picked the wrong thing. But I’ve hit a few home-runs by doing my research about the things he wants, and occasionally picking something for him that he never knew he always needed. 🙂

With this in mind, I have started a Pinterest Board of gifts for men…specifically my man, but since he’s a pretty manly man, there may be some things here that pertain to the men in your life too.

Here’s what I have so far. If you look closely at this you can see a couple of things about BSB. First off, he is a gear guy. That stems from his need to always be prepared (hence the nickname “Boy Scout Barry”). For the same reason, he is also extremely security conscious! This man would like for me to shred every single piece of paper and junk mail that enters the house with our address on it. It has been a source of debate for us.

That is why I was really excited when Fellowes sent us a brand new Fellowes 63Cb to test drive it is starting at $49 . I nearly just wrapped it up with a bow to put under the tree, but since we already had a paper shredder, I figured I had better tell him about it, in case he thought it would make a good present for his dad (a retired physician who has employed family for hours shredding out-of-date medical records). BSB made it known, in no uncertain terms, that we would be keeping this new model and adding it to his gear collection.

This is a pretty serious paper shredder. I’ve never seen one with a light up display before!

It can shred credit cards and staples. My favorite feature is the pull-out drawer! We’ve never had one with that before, and it makes so much sense! I might not look at shredding as such a pain now that it is easier to empty the basket and keep on going.

Of course, if you are a girly girl like me, you might be more excited about shredding colorful paper to make confetti for a party or filler for a present!

I’m hoping my gift guide gives you a few ideas you might not have considered before. (There are a couple of cute DIY gifts the kids can help make that Dad’s will love)! I would love to know any suggestions you might have of products I should add to my list. Have you gotten a practical gift for a man in your life that they just loved? Do share! Maybe we can help each other out with the difficult men on our list.

Guess what! I get to give away one of these amazing shredders (retail value $150!!!) to one of my lovely readers!! Just use the widget below!

  1. The widget won’t ever load for me. I tried yesterday and again today but it just keeps spinning. I’m on IE – does that matter? 🙁

    • I don’t know Kyra. This is my first time using this widget. Rafflecopter was down, so I thought I would give it a shot. Can you try with a different browser. I know some entries are coming through so maybe your computer is blocking it for some reason? So sorry! Let me know if you have any luck!
