Freaky Fun Food

Are you looking for some fun menu ideas this Halloween week? Here are some of my fun finds. If you are looking for fun meals to make with/for children, Gourmet Mom on the Go, has a lot of great ideas. I loved how easy her ghost pancakes looked, so I had to try it out when we were at Grandma’s house a couple of weeks ago. The trick is getting the chocolate chips inserted flush with the pancake. Too deep and they disappear, to shallow and they melt on the pan. But my kids were so excited about these.
When I realized that Grandma had strawberry sauce (ghost blood) and whipped cream, I had to take it a step further.
My friend Trish made some colorful Jack-o-lantern pancakes you might want to try here.
I’m also thinking I will try out Gourmet Mom’s mummy meatloaf this week. I am always excited to find festive recipes for things other than sweets.
Check out Holly’s witches fingers. These look fun because they don’t require baking and would be fun gifts, they way she has packaged them.
Do you have a traditional pre-trick-or-treating meal at your house? What are your favorite Halloween recipies?
NOTE: As requested I am working on a coffee filter flower tutorial and gourmet group how-to post. Stay Tuned! If you are waiting with baited breath to see all of my completed projects that I “helped” my parents with when they were here, you’re going to have to wait just a little longer. After I finish these seasonal posts, I’m going to have “Miracle Worker Week” where I feature all of those projects/miracles.

    Feeling Fall

    Freeze Tag

You remember that post a little bit ago about how life happens?  Well, life keeps happening to me.  The latest in my series of unfortunate events (my daughter loves those book, btw), is that the breaker to our chest freezer somehow got tripped, and instead of a freezer we basically had a large ice chest.  Fortunately,…

    Edible Easter Nests

Normally, I love Easter–the long awaited arrival of Spring, and all things beautiful and soft. This year it is just coming too fast! I haven’t had weeks to scheme up all kinds of Easter decor, gifts or projects. I did have one idea, however, and I figured I had better share it with you before…
