Valentines Fun

We had kind of an early Valentine’s celebration with the kids this weekend. My sister-in-law brought over everything to make sugar cookies with the kids and we turned it into a crafty party. We needed food, so I decided to try heart-shaped pizzas. It was pretty easy since I used the ready made dough from Fresh and Easy. Papa John’s has nothing on us! I like how this one looks like a polka-dotted heart.

Of course, I had to try a little insanity. I cut slices of red bell peppers and arranged them in heart shaped on the grown-up pizza.
And here is the sugar cookie craziness!
Kira is going to town!
While they were busy making cookies, I put together this wreath, using directions found here. I just used three coordinating remnant fabrics. I planned to put it on the door, but didn’t have a hanger, so for now, it is dressing up my bare mantle.
We also tried our hand at this Martha Stewart craft. I wish I could get a better picture of how pretty they look in our front window.
And the projects didn’t stop there. After the kids were in bed, I helped my sister-in-law dip strawberries in chocolate for a bridal shower she was helping with the following day. I had to make one look like a bride and one like a groom, but forgot to take a picture. Maybe if Amber did, I will post about those another day.
I hope you are having some Valentines fun this week!

  1. we’ve done those wax paper hearts before…and you are right! They look so lovely with the light coming through. Love the pizzas, by the way!

  2. Whoa! These are seriously fabulous. Especially love the red pepper hearts.

By the way, you might be interested in a super give-away contest running this week (and every week) on my LDS blog at Not Entirely British

This time, the prize is a copy of Dr. Wally Goddard’s latest book, “Soft-Spoken Parenting.” From what I’ve heard, it is excellent.
