One really fun trend that popped up a few times in the Party Party was the Gender Reveal Party! I’ve never been to one, but they look like a lot of fun! The basic idea is that when the momma to be gets her ultrasound, the doctor (or whoever does it) writes the gender of…
Miracle Worker Week ended with a celebration of my daughter’s second birthday. If you have read my blog at all, you know that I dream up elaborate birthday schemes for my kids’ birthdays, often a year or more in advance. Tessa’s birthday was no exception, except that as the birthday got closer, everything changed. And…
This is they hybrid sleuthing notebook I made for the Nancy Drew mystery birthday adventure (full report coming, later). I got the idea from Emily Giovanni’s blog. Credits are listed on my gallery at Little Dreamer Designs. The notebook was on clearance at Target, super cheap! I’ve also thought about using this idea for mothers’…
I thought I would give you a peek at a few things that have shown up in my mailbox lately to aid in my party planning endeavors. I’m actually thinking I will hold on the the ABC cups for a little while. I’m thinking “A is for Alec” could make a very cute first birthday…
Each time one of my children has a birthday, I try and get creative about what I can bring into the classroom for school treats since our school doesn’t allow homemade goods. My oldest daughter’s birthday lands on Earth Day and last year, we used that as our theme for the entire celebration. I’m working…
I was recently asked by a reader to re-create this Nancy Drew invitation for her daughter’s birthday. I originally designed this invitation for my daughter’s 7th birthday and posted about it here. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this request from a reader. I’ve done 4 or 5 of these invitations for little aspiring sleuths and…

Sounds like it will be a barn-raising good time!! Michelle I would suggest making a big barnyard felt board for the children to play with at the party, it's appealing if you have a wide range of ages there. I wrote a post last week about my farm felt board. Have fun!!

This is a great party idea. I love every part of it: from the cupcakes to the invites.
I'd suggest to gather some barnyard-themed stuffed animals for the kids to play with. Even playing a soundtrack of farm noises could be fun.
We always have a family gathering for the 4th of July, that runner with jean pockets is a perfect contribution. I will be making that this year. I'm collecting jean pockets now. Thanks. By the way, I read, I just don't always comment. Love your creative ideas.
I LOVE your website! So many great ideas! The cupcakes and the "chicken feed" look delicious…now I am wanting to have a farm party! lol
I LOVE all of these ideas! The bandana runner…and those jean pockets holding utensils. So so cute!
You are so creative. I stumbled across your blog and i love it!
Aw shucks, thanks for the shout-outs; been a bit behind on the blog, so that's what took so long to realize.
