With Disney’s new Cinderella movie on DVD, and pumpkins popping up in markets everywhere, I couldn’t wait any longer to show you the over-the-top birthday party I threw for my daughter last fall inspired by that fairy tale. It may very well be the most over-the-top birthday party I have thrown to date. I told her not to expect anything so fancy ever again…at least until her sweet 16 party.
While much of the party reflects the original Disney cartoon of Cinderella, we chose a non-traditional pink and gold color scheme because the party girl loves pink and her mom is enamored of the combination of pink and gold together. Also, because she has an autumn birthday, we wanted to play up the pumpkin elements in the party as much as possible.

A Royal invitation!
All Cinder girls must wear aprons.
Fairy Godmother helps them do their chores.
Such as making their own pumpkin carriage.
A surprise signals the time to transform into a Princess and go to the ball.
The pumpkin has turned into a carriage pulled by two really cute ponies!
The princesses rush to have a ride.
They take the long way to the palace. No one is in a big hurry to meet the prince, now.
At last they arrive at the Pumpkin Palace!
Where they find a royal banquet has been prepared!
A place for each princess, and a tiny glass slipper, too!
Today must be a very special day!
The mice all think so!
Pumpkin pastas, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin pizelles, and cheese broomsticks in honor of our cinder girls.
And royal treasure to be shared by all!
Go ahead and make a wish!
Your fairy godmothers will make it come true!
I guess they wished for more pony cart rides.
Forget Prince Charming! These princesses fell in love with the ponies!
And they all lived happily ever after!
