Goldfish birthday collage 600

The Goldfish Party from See Vanessa Craft!!

I love this party for a lot of reasons. It has a very distinct color scheme and design that is repeated throughout the party down to the tiny bubbles on the marshmallow pops. Of course it is completely adorable, but I love that this isn’t just a party that looks pretty! First of all, I think a fish theme is perfect for a 2 year old. I did a fishy party for my daughter when she turned two in the pre-blog era. I love that the food and decorations, while appealing to us big kids, are also exciting and appropriate for the birthday boy and his guests age group. (Don’t two-year-olds just eat goldfish crackers all day everyday?) And I also love the thematic age-appropriate activities for the kids like the bubble station and crafts. So an all-around great party and very deserving of the Party of the Year title for 2012!! Thanks for sharing and congratulations, Vanessa! (We’ll be in touch about your prizes!)

But since all of the parties were so amazing, I have to highlight a few others and hand out a few other awards. These don’t involve any actual prizes, but some big bragging rights!

The Pinterest Award Willy Wonka Party Pinterest

This incredibly detailed Willy Wonka party by It’s Sew Stinkin’ Cute went a little crazy on Pinterest, due in part to this AMAZING birthday cake. I also can’t get over the candy dots lining the walls. Kiddie heaven!

The Most Fun Award

Angry Birds Collage edit

This Angry Bird party by Jackie at Malone Monkeys looks like such a” blast”! Or like “the bomb”! Or… I’m out of Angry Birds wordplays, so I’ll just say…SO….MUCH…FUN!  Especially the part about launching stuffed birds across the room in a life-sized version of the digital game.

The Most Likely to Be Copied by Me Award

Every year there is at least one party that completely inspires me, or is right on the same wavelength of what I have been planning, that it becomes a huge resource to me. I am planning a mad science party for my son this fall, and I plan to rely heavily on all of the wonderful ideas Sara from Clever Pink Pirate used in her party. They did so many great science experiments that I want to do, too! It’s so nice to have everything she did for reference!

I’m also feeling really inspired by the adorable Tool-themed party by Dixie Delights. There may be a party like that in my little guy’s future!

The Most Uniquely Fresh Award (or help me come up with a better title for this award)

Little Brave Man shower by Cue the Confetti Little Brave Man Shower

I had to share a little bit of this shower, because I was so taken by the feel of it. It totally reminds me of the modern and sophisticated Southwestern style Mandi@Vintage Revivals is embracing. It features super trendy hand-painted arrows, and very sophisticated, but still thematic foods.

The Most Original Themes:

Wow! Every party submitted was so original! I could list them all here, but I won’t.  So here are a few favorite party themes I had never seen before and I thought were so clever:

Creative Parties The Mail Party

Vintage Barbie Camping Party

The Trash Bash

Hansel and Gretel

Favorite Details:

Party Details

Vintage paper hats

The taco shell garland

Bowling Cupcakes with gum ball balls

Yarn-wrapped birthday number

Vintage Crib as gift table

Ugh! I keep thinking of more parties I want to mention, but if I don’t wrap this up now, I’m pretty sure it won’t be finished until my 6th Blogiversary, so just believe me when I say that I was blown away by everyone’s creativity! Every party is so inspiring (you should visit them all)! Thanks, everyone, for sharing them with us!

Big congratulations to Vanessa for bringing home the big prize!

And that’s a wrap!

(But my next post is going to feel like a party! Check back soon for a huge giveaway!!!)
